Our Liberation From England â⬠Creative Writing
Our Liberation From England ââ¬â Creative Writing Free Online Research Papers As an American citizen the Declaration of Independence signifies our liberation from England and is a platform on which our constitution has been built. The Declaration of Independence is the document that ââ¬Å"declaredâ⬠what goals and rights on which this new nation was going to be based. Thomas Jefferson wrote, ââ¬Å"All men are created equalâ⬠For me this statement is the most important in the entire document, for it allows America to open its arms and be the first country to state that it is ok to be different. No matter what you looked like you are still no better than anyone else. In my opinion the mentality that you are equal to the person next to you is what makes the U. S. such a unified and molded country. Thomas Jefferson stated that as Americans we have certain unalienable rights. Among these were life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Thomas Jefferson stated ââ¬Å"pursuit of happinessâ⬠as an unalienable right. By doing so he opened the doors to democracy and showed the people of the new country that being happy is something that no one should be able to take away. To me the most important unalienable right is the ââ¬Å"pursuit of happiness.â⬠In the pursuit of happiness you have the opportunity to celebrate life, instead of sulk and wish that you were someone or something else. This right is the only right that canââ¬â¢t be given to you. This right, you must gain yourself and only through finding happiness do you secure this unalienable right. In my opinion without the pursuit of happiness there is no reason to search for liberty or retain life. Being happy is the only reason that life means anything, with out being happy life would be something to dread and instead of to cherish. As an American I believe that it is imperative that we stay true and loyal to this document. This document is a paradigm to the closest thing to a utopian society. If this document was never written, I wonder if thoughts of equality for all would ever have surfaced and if it did what would the new document entitle. Who would have written it?
